About Pepper Rutland
James B “Pepper” Rutland is the leader of MMR Group, America’s largest open shot electrical instrumentation firm. MMR Group was founded in 1991 and has excelled at developing electrical and instrumentation construction, maintenance and technical services. He is also a founding member and Vice President of the Baton Rouge-based Miracle League at Cypress Mounds. This charitable organization centers around providing differently-abled children with the opportunity to play baseball. Pepper believes playing team sports is a pivotal part of growth and that no child should be limited from the experience and life lessons worth learning through athletics. As a former member of the LSU Tigers Football team, and a defensive team captain at outside linebacker, Pepper Rutland has never forgotten the bonds forged and lessons learned through his own athletic experiences. Pepper was so profoundly impacted by his time at LSU that his philanthropic efforts have included significant donations to the school. His organization MMR Group provides significant contributions towards charity groups like “Toys for Tots” and “Angel Tree Giving Program” as Pepper believes the most critical charitable acts are directed towards children in need.
